Woman: Hubcaps stolen at Kendall courthouse

A 19-year-old Leland woman reported Tuesday that since May 13 two of her hubcaps were stolen on two different occasions while parked in the lot of the Kendall County Courthouse, 807 W. John St., the Kendall County sheriff’s office said. Police are investigating.

Two men were charged with trying to steal car on Wednesday after they were found breaking into a 1997 Honda Accord, the Kane County state’s attorney’s office said. Ulices Barcenas, 18, 300 block of West State Street, North Aurora, and Christopher Gonzalez, 18, 1500 block of Lincolnshire Avenue, Aurora, were charged with felonies attempt to possess a stolen vehicle and possession of burglary tools, as well as misdemeanor criminal damage to property, prosecutors said.

Jose Ramirez, 41, 300 block of Rosewood Avenue, Aurora, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, drunken driving and failure to signal at 1:33 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of Seminary Avenue, police said.

Aurora police reported an accident with injuries that occurred at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday near Illinois and Grand avenues. Police said a vehicle driven by Victoria Valverde-Figueroa struck a parked car. Valverde-Figueroa was charged with having no valid driver’s license and improper lane usage, police said. Police refused to release his age or address.

Curtize Pryor-Thomas was injured on Tuesday near Laurel and Charleston drives while riding his bicycle through a crosswalk, police said. Police said the Pryor-Thomas crossed the intersection and hit the back tire of a vehicle driven by Gerald Roesner. No tickets were issued. No further information was released.

Kendall County

A string of burglaries occurred overnight Tuesday to several vehicles parked in the 0-99 block of East Rickard Road in Bristol, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Department said.

Four residents reported that someone had gone through their vehicles, in several instances taking nothing with them.

Three kids’ bicycles were taken from one property, and several radio face-plates were stolen from one home where four cars had been rummaged through, police said.

Sandwich

Two boys were charged with criminal damage to government-supported property after they were caught spraying a fire extinguisher from a Sandwich school bus at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Both boys were juveniles.
