Robinson - Benton

Brittney Robinson of Orangeburg, S.C. and George Benton of Walterboro, S.C., were united in marriage at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Camp Anderson in Orangeburg.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Gail Hart of Orangeburg and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Robinson of North, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Baltzegar of Denmark, S.C. and the late Mr. Julian Hart.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hoff of Cottageville, S.C. and Mr. and Mrs. George Lee Benton of Walterboro. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Meree; the late Ms. Tiny Benton and the late Mr. George Benton.

Ms. Marsh Redmond officiated the ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Matron of honor was Erica Thomas of Walterboro.

Bridesmaids were Jacki Rahn of Bamberg, S.C., friend of the bride and Emily McKeithan of Cope, S.C., cousin of the bride.

The groom's father served as best man.

Groomsmen were Dwight McKeithan of Cope, friend of the groom; Ian Padgett of Walterboro, friend of the groom and Allen Thomas of Walterboro, friend of the groom.

Ring bearer was Julian VanBuren, nephew of the bride.

Flower girl was Heather VanBuren, niece of the bride.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at Camp Anderson in Orangeburg.

After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas the couple will reside in Walterboro.

Mrs. Benton is a 2003 graduate of Edisto High School and a 2005 graduate of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. She is currently employed at Edisto Pet Clinic in Orangeburg.

Mr. Benton is a 2000 graduate of Colleton County High School. He is currently employed at IP Builders in Walterboro.

I can tell yall one thing......... If the parents would take responsibility for their kids and their actions, there would be less gang related issues in Walterboro. In the good old days, parents had control over their children, and when they stepped out of line they were punshied. Now a days the children know that their parents aren't going to do anything, so why would they listen there is no consequences for there actions!!! I can tell yall one thing......... Cav Eagle you are absolutely correct, and that's where I have a problem. Used to you could discipline your kids how you seen fit (not talking about beating), but from time to time they may need a spanking or a swift kick in the butt. Now the kids know their parents hands are tied and that gives them the since that they can do whatever they want. It all starts at home!!!!!
