Police Blotter: Beer Bottle Shatters Car Window
BURGLARY
A resident reported pry marks were left on the track of a rear sliding door between June 23 and July 6 on the 100 block of East Fabish Drive. Neighbors were contacted but no one saw anyone or anything suspicious.
Someone entered a vehicle and removed the stereo between 10 p.m. July 6 and 9:30 a.m. July 7 on the 100 block of Fox Hill Drive. There were no signs of forced entry.
COMPLAINT
A resident reported July 5 that he had hired a contractor to remodel a townhome. The owner was not happy with the work and hired someone else. The owner reported that the contractor was taking pictures of the work and was concerned. The contractor stated that he took the pictures in case the owner claimed the work to be inferior. The contractor gathered his belongings and left.
An employee of a business on the 300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue reported July 6 stated he has not received his last paycheck. The manager has stated several times that the check would be there but it is not. The manager was not at the location the time of the report.
DRUGS
A 15-year-old Arlington Heights resident was charged with possession of nitrous oxide and curfew violation at 1:10 a.m. July 8 on the 700 block of Dundee Road.
LOST ITEM
A fireworks spectator reported at 10:15 p.m. July 4 that her Samsung Android cell phone was missing. The owner noticed the phone was gone when she was in the parking lot of 350 McHenry Road.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
Someone knocked a mailbox off its post between 11 p.m. July 4 and 5:50 a.m. July 5 on the 1200 block of Mill Creek Drive.
Someone threw a brown beer bottle at a resident’s vehicle, shattering the rear window, between 6 a.m. July 4 and 7:40 a.m. July 5 on the 2100 block of Brandywyn Lane.
Someone set the contents of a mailbox on fire between July 1-4 on the 600 block of Thompson Boulevard. The contents were not completely destroyed.
Someone spray painted graffiti on the side of a house on July 5 on the 1100 block of Gail Drive, causing damage to the aluminum siding.
Someone spray painted graffiti on a portable toiler, brick structure and metal electric box between July 1-5 at Green Lake Park.
A clerk at the Shell gas station reported that a customer drove off with the gas hose still in the tank, causing the hose to separate at the safety point, at 10:20 a.m. July 7. An attempt to contact the registered owner failed.
